    Remington Laser Dermatology Centre

    Barb has been the head nurse and clinical director at the Remington Laser Dermatology Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2004. She works directly with Dr. Todd Remington and continues to be mentored by the founder Dr. Kent Remington. She has a passion for treating vascular birthmarks and was one of the contributors of the consensus guidelines published in 2022 in the joint project with the Vascular Birthmark Foundation and ALSMS President Dr. Paul Friedman. She recognizes the impact that early, appropriate treatment can have on families and patients diagnosed with a port wine birthmark, and her goal is to educate medical professionals and create awareness to the general public. Having the opportunity to work directly with Dr. Geronemus, Dr. Goldberg, Dr. Colletti and many other laser experts, she continues to advance her knowledge and expertise and is the leading nurse provider for vascular birthmarks. Her mission is to collaborate with other health care professionals to establish a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary team for adults diagnosed with Vascular Birthmarks in Calgary, Alberta to mimic the one currently in place for children. She has the same devotion for treating burn, traumatic and surgical scars and has found that the information shared by scar experts from ASLMS has revolutionized her protocol's and dramatically improved outcomes. As both a nurse and a laser expert, she delivers comprehensive treatments with a level of care and compassion that patients of all ages value. Using the advancement of learning and laser technology, she has been privileged to improve the quality of life for patients of all ages.
